Former American Foundation for the Blind Chairman Larry Kimbler Joins Envision Board of Directors

Prominent industry leader will greatly benefit Envision, the nation’s premier service provider to and employer of individuals who are blind or visually impaired
Wichita, Kan. (Dec. 19, 2022) – Envision has welcomed Larry B. Kimbler, former American Foundation for the Blind Chairman, to the Envision Board of Directors. He joins a prominent group of leaders who support Envision’s mission to advance opportunities and employment for people who are blind or visually impaired. Mr. Kimbler lives in Dallas, Texas.
Mr. Kimbler served as a Sergeant (paratrooper) in the Army. He is also a retired Certified Public Accountant and received the Master Professional designation by the International Development Research Council (IDRC). He has had many executive leadership roles within the finance, real estate and land development industries. Mr. Kimbler was the Executive Vice President for the Staubach Company in Dallas and has authored articles on real estate investing and negotiating, and was a consultant to a Japanese real estate think tank.
One of his passions is leveling the playing field for individuals who are blind or visually impaired. Mr. Kimbler’s interest is the result of watching his daughter's childhood friend who is blind become an independent and productive adult. Her success was due in large part to her parents being able to provide her with the technical and emotional support that a typical person who is blind may not be afforded.

Envision Dallas is home to the American Foundation of the Blind’s Center on Vision Loss and Esther’s Place model apartment – which Mr. Kimbler was instrumental in establishing. The space is specifically designed and equipped to acquaint people who are blind or visually impaired with adaptive products, appliances and techniques - allowing them to gain higher levels of confidence, independence, and self-sufficiency in a home environment.
